Hello all!
First off, I’d like to thank everyone for welcoming Don Conkel to the January meeting. The turnout was great, and I’m sure you’ll agree, his presentation was excellent. For those that haven’t been making it to the meetings, I encourage you to attend, especially when we have such an excellent speaker. Bob has done a fantastic job of lining up world renowned cichlid experts for our meetings, and the opportunity to learn from these people should not be taken for granted. Speaking of meetings, the February meeting is coming up on the 14th… yes, I know it’s Valentine’s Day, and I hope that doesn’t deter too many from joining. There will be a presentation, as yet undetermined, so stay tuned for the formal Newsletter to provide the official word. The Board met this past Friday, and had a productive discussion encompassing many topics. First and foremost, we are moving our meeting start time up to 5:30. This means Bowl Show entries must be registered and set up no later than 5:45. Please take note of this important change. It is critical that our meetings start on time, and we give everyone ample opportunity to view the Bowl Show fish, talk to our speakers, and ask questions about the hobby. We are expected to be finished by 8:00, and that includes putting away the tables and chairs, and I would ask everyone to lend a helping hand in that process.
Our Spring Auction is March 13th, and details as always will be on the website. If you haven’t already registered on the Forums, please feel free to do so (with your full name…). Taking advantage of this technology is a great way to collaborate, ask questions and learn.
Thanks as always, and we hope to see you at the Meeting!
Keith
