Bristle nose spawn!

Postby Keith Kiggins » Sun Jan 17, 2010 8:53 pm

I've just discovered my second successful bristlenose spawn! Well, if you count simply seeing babies as successful. I'm not sure if any of the first spawn are still around...

So, question: what do you all do to raise the babies? I can't remove them from the tank, it's all I got. Do you feed supplementally? Zuchini? Algae tabs? The parents seem to be doing well by just scavenging excess food. Any help would be appreciated!

Very cool!!! Congrats!! What kind of bristlenose?

I do not know the answer to your question but I am curious as to what other kind of fish you keep?

Brenda, this particular tank is essentially a Julidichromis transcriptus species tank. My other tank is a perfect community mix of Malawi, Tanganyika, West Africa and Central America!

Keith
I usually just feed the tank heavier so that the babies can scavenge food. If you are using flake, crumble it very fine or if pellet, use the powder.
