NOVEMBER MEETING! Friday November 10th. ELECTIONS!
6:30pm, FRIDAY Nov. 10th, At the American Legion Hall.
5400 East Yale Avenue, Denver, CO 80222
Dear members of the RMCA, (And also the Facebook Group)
Cichlid and Aquarium enthusiasts. We reach out to you, for the RMCA needs you. We need volunteers, with good hearts, visions, and dedication, to helping this club succeed. Yes, this is a real club, that people do meet in person. The Rocky Mountain Cichlid Assosiation, has been around longer then a lot of us have been alive! Since 1974! We host auctions, and monthly meetings, and bring in speakers, and have special events for our members. This is a team effort, and having volunteers, that are passionate about the hobby, love helping others in the hobby, and help the club continue to grow. We need people who take it seriously, who would show up, and help out.
When Covid hit, we could not host meetings or auctions for that period of time, and it hurt the club pretty bad. A lot of the heavy breeders, and hobbyists that filled the club, took their fish rooms down, and got out of the hobby. The RMCA was an outlet for them to offload the nice fish they were breeding. Thankfully some hobbyists and breeders are still around, and the auctions are still doing rather decent. But the club needs to heal and re-grow to the way it was. And hopefully we can get more cichlid and aquarium enthusiasts back in!
Here are the current positions in the board of directors.
President,
1st Vice President,
2nd Vice President,
Treasurer,
Secretary,
Sergeant at Arms,
and two Members at Large.
Current positions that need to be voted upon this cycle (November) would be
President, (Currently myself, Matthew Grant)
Second Vice President, (Currently Stephen Dabelko)
Secretary, (Currently Christian Mendoza)
Member-at-large (Currently Dennis Croteau)
Some of the members that are in the positions up for re-election are willing to stay in those positions, such as myself. Some may want to step down if someone else wants to step in. It is a voting process. The Member-at-large position does need to be re-filled, for Dennis has moved out of state. (Thank you for your contributions Dennis!) If anyone wants to be involved in the decision making, we will always welcome new ideas and advice from any members.
We could also use some Chairman positions, for more specialty tasks, such as a “Speaker Chair” contacting and reaching out to hobbyists that could possibly do presentations at our meetings. “Donation Chair” Reaching out to vendors and manufacturers for Donations to our auctions. And so on and so forth.
If anyone has any questions, or interest in filling any of the open positions, please join us at the November 10th Meeting, at the American Legion Hall at 6:30pm.
Thank you so much for reading.
-Sincerely, your current RMCA President. -Matt
